Nylon Slip Collar

Nylon Slip Collar

Regular price $9.99

Close your eyes. I want you to imagine something. Picture a little old couple sitting in rocking chairs on the front porch overlooking a beautiful mountain scene. Can you see it? Now imagine that couple methodically weaving nylon rope to make slip collars for us. For three decades that story was the truth. Until they retired. GEEZ!!

We spent years looking for a replacement for the nylon slip collars that were woven on the front porch. We finally found them and we are happy to offer them to you.

Don't be fooled by the imposters you find on Amazon or Chewy. They ARE NOT the same.

Taming the Wild slip collars are made of sturdy nylon material with nickel-plated zinc hardware. They are soft, durable, sleek, discreet, and perfect.

Here are some tips on getting the properly sized slip collar…

  • Measure your dog's neck with a soft tape measure. You will want to measure right behind the ears as opposed to closer to the shoulders. If you don't have a soft tape measure, use a piece of string and measure the string with a ruler.
  • For a proper fit, add one to two inches to the neck measurement. However, if your dog is a breed with a larger head (bully breeds), it is a good idea to measure around your dog’s head (under the chin and over top of the head) to ensure the collar will slide over your dog’s head.
  • The collar should fit snug enough that your dog can't back out of it. You should have to gently coax it over the ears of most breeds. If it slips on easily, without coaxing, then it is too big.
  • When the collar is secure, you should be able to get 2 fingers between the collar and the dog's neck.
To remove the collar, pull over one ear at a time. Do not try to pull the collar over both ears at the same time. If it was a properly fitting collar, it won’t come off that way!
